I have to admit becoming a dietitian wasn’t always my dream. In high school, I originally planned to go to college to become a hairstylist. Having family that worked in the field, I was encouraged to pursue a university education before making that choice. This left me with the task of choosing a field of interest to study. Enter nutrition. I had always been interested in healthy lifestyles, intently watching every exercise program infomercial when it came up on tv. I still had no idea what a dietitian was at the time, but I thank my nurse sister for introducing me to dietetics.
Though it wasn’t my original plan, I quickly became very passionate about the power of good nutrition, from reversing chronic disease to achieving an overall healthy balance. My perspective has definitely evolved significantly, and I am so happy to see approaches such as intuitive eating becoming more and more mainstream. I feel so lucky to be able to share my evidence-based nutrition knowledge with others and make a positive impact on their lives!
