My mission is to educate, inspire, and motivate you in becoming the healthiest and happiest version of yourself. I am passionate about all aspects of nutrition, from metabolism and physiology to cooking and eating. I believe the food that we eat can change the course of our lives. What we consume affects both the function of our physical and emotional well-being.
My Approach to Counseling: My coaching style focuses on a flexible approach to eating- no restrictions and no deprivation. My aim is to help you meet all of your health and weight loss goals without cutting out your favourite foods. I understand that there are many layers that influence our food choices, which include our cultural celebrations, fad dieting, coping mechanisms, busy schedules, family management, allergies, and textural/taste aversions. If you have tried to make healthy changes to your eating habits but have found it difficult, I can help!
Big changes happen with small, realistic steps. I will take a holistic approach when assessing your nutritional needs by learning about the factors in your life that affect your food choices. I will gather information about your lifestyle, stress and energy levels, sleep quality, as well as your current and past eating patterns, including your water intake. Together, we will explore your relationship with food and everything that governs your food choices. By creating an individualized dietary plan for you based on your experience with food, your nutritional needs, and your health goals, I will help you successfully incorporate realistic daily changes into your life that are sustainable. The dietary plan may include culinary components such as food preparation/cooking coaching, grocery store assistance, and guidance with meal planning. We will be creative to avoid jeopardizing your favourite foods and to ensure that you find joy in eating well. To help you achieve your health goals, I will educate you on the “whats” and “whys” of the recommended plan and aim to inspire and motivate you to start your healthy eating journey.
