This is difficult for me to write because I have to share something that is very personal to me in order to give this review. I came to Nishaat for help at point in my life where I had been given a difficult diagnosis and I had been battling weight for years. Nishaat helped me tailor a diet around my health needs, she took over the planning of my meals. It changed my taste and increased my flavour profiles to a point where I don’t like foods with too much salt or processed ingredients/products anymore. It freed up my mind, so I could focus on my life and a busy job. I could email Nishaat about any product or ingredient and she would give advice as to how I should best navigate meals. She also taught me to navigate meals related to traditional family celebrations. For example, where I come from my family traditionally eat a lot of protein and pickled products. Conversely, my wife’s family typically serve excessive amounts of food. Nishaat would research ingredients from those different traditions to help me make the right choices while still being able to respect and eat foods served during traditional meals. Throughout all this, Nishaat has been my biggest cheerleader. She was never afraid of switching things up and change plans when my work-life balance required it. She got me to use a more positive language when reporting my weekly goals. I used to be very negative if I didn’t quite reach all my goals, but speaking about them in positive terms made me realize that they were efforts reflecting changes in the right directions. This gave me the encouragement to keep working hard at meeting my goals.
