What is

Endometriosis?

Endometriosis is a chronic inflammatory condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside of it – often on the ovaries, fallopian tubes, or other nearby organs. It’s tied to hormone activity, in particular estrogen and progesterone, and symptoms can include pelvic pain, painful periods, bloating, heavy bleeding, and discomfort during sex or bathroom use.

While the exact cause is unknown, we do know that both inflammation and hormonal health play a role. That means lifestyle and nutrition can make a meaningful difference in how you feel.

Nutrition and Endometriosis:

What to Eat to Support Your Body

Nutrition plays a key role in managing endometriosis by supporting hormone balance, reducing inflammation, and promoting overall well-being.

What’s A Dietitian’s Role In Endometriosis Care?

According to the Endometriosis Network of Canada, the average time to diagnose endometriosis is 5 years. However, you don’t need to wait for a formal diagnosis; a registered dietitian can help you take proactive steps to start feeling better, one meal at a time.

We help navigate your symptoms and lab work, and we develop a personalized endo eating plan that supports hormone balance, reduces inflammation, and supports gut health.
